John Hamill provides strategic regulatory consultancy services as the Managing Director of Chronotope Consulting. He has a deep-seated commitment to navigating the complexities posed by climate change, social responsibility, economic volatility, and the advancements in artificial intelligence, John is committed to helping organizations adapt and thrive in the face of modern challenges, leveraging over fifteen years of expertise in the energy, water, telecommunications, and transport sectors.

Before his current role, John’s career included his tenure as CEO of the Essential Services Commission of Victoria, where he was at the helm of significant reforms in the state’s essential services (including energy, water, and ports), notably pioneering and implementing the PREMO pricing framework in the water sector. Earlier, as the General Manager of Network Regulation at New Zealand’s Commerce Commission, he was responsible for regulation of energy networks, telecommunications, and airports demonstrating his adeptness at implementing robust and sustainable regulatory frameworks that provide regulatory certainty for businesses, investors and consumers.
