Jay Gordon, Energy Finance Analyst, Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis

Jay Gordon is an Energy Finance Analyst in Australian electricity at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA). His work largely focuses on demand-side solutions in the energy transition – including the interaction between residential electrification and gas networks. Jay has previous experience in whole-of-economy scenario modelling, leading modelling capabilities at Climateworks Centre. This included collaborating with the CSIRO on several key projects investigating the role of the electricity system in decarbonising the economy, including for the Australian Energy Market Operator’s Integrated System Plan. He holds a Bachelor of Environments (Environmental Engineering Systems) and Master of Geography from the University of Melbourne.
