Genevieve Simpson, Program Leader RACE for Change, RACE for 2030

Genevieve Simpson is Program Leader and WA Node Leader for the RACE for 2030 CRC, an industry-led collaboration aiming to invest $350 million in energy-related research by 2030. RACE’s research stretches across energy innovation in businesses, homes, electricity networks and Genevieve’s area (change), which includes cross-cutting themes of customer priorities and trust, modelling the future energy system and the energy workforce of the future.

Her previous experience in policy and engagement includes developing strategic engagement advice for the CSIRO, managing a government relations team in a state-owned energy utility, co-delivering a Masters-level Climate Change Policy and Planning university unit, and developing policy and program advice in a state government energy policy agency.

Genevieve is passionate about understanding the transition of the electricity industry towards a de-carbonised future. Her previous research, published internationally, examined the tools that governments can use to promote energy transition and what the use of these tools may mean for industry and community members.
