Dr Hao Wang, Senior Lecturer – Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Monash University

Hao Wang is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Data Science and AI and the Monash Energy Institute at Monash University. He previously held the position of Research Scholar at Stanford University in the US. At Monash, Hao leads a dynamic research team dedicated to advancing optimisation and AI techniques for sustainable power and energy systems. The research scope encompasses a wide array of areas, including electricity market bidding strategies, integration of distributed energy resources, electric vehicle charging coordination, and energy consumer behaviors.

He leads several government and industry funded projects, including an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellowship and CSIRO’s Next Generation Graduates Program focused on AI for Clean Energy and Sustainability. He is actively contributing to innovative AI solutions to facilitate the energy transition.
