Andrew Davis, Executive Digital – Strategy & Customer (CDO), TasNetworks

Andrew Davis has built an outstanding reputation in the energy sector as a senior commercial executive with a specific focus odelivering customer value via innovation. Over a 20 year career, he has worked in over 25 markets globally, working with governmentsagenciestertiary institutions and investors on strategic, commercial, government and environmental issues.  He holds a Masters in Marketing and Bachelor of Arts. 

Andrew, has spent the last four years with energy infrastructure company Jemena, where his current role is to plan and implement the market strategy for the Electricity Distribution business. He is responsible for Jemena’s innovation and technology program, and management of large Commercial and Industrial customersDuring this time, Andrew, has delivered the industry leading Demand Response programPower Changers (in partnership with the Victorian government). This received numerous accolades both locally and globally winning Digital Innovation of the Year from Digital Utility Magazine and runner up for both Energy Network Australia and the Edison Electrical Institute’s “Product Innovation of the Year” – the latter being the industry’s highest accolade. 

Prior to joining Jemena, Andrew was General Manager Retail, for the fuel company Viva Energy Australia (the Shell brand in Australia). During this time Andrew, led Australia’s largest retail fuels business based on market share and turnover (in excess of $5.5B). Prior to this, Andrew was Shell’s Global Retail Innovation and Sustainability Manager. In this role, Andrew set Shell’s sustainability strategy for over 40,000 retail sites and managed over $130M capex deployment annually. This was Shell Downstream’s single largest value added capex program.   

Andrew Davis is a current Board member of the Electricity and Water Ombudsman Victoria and Electric Vehicle Council of AustraliaPrior to this he was a Board member of the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores. Additionally, he is on several commercial advisory committees including Enterprise Ireland and “Monash’s Digital Energy Future”.  

Andrew is passionate around building greater trust between the energy sector and its customers. This includes a specific focus on partnering with the local community. Andrew is a member of the Australian Energy Foundation’s “Brains Trust” and is heavily focussed on household engagement and energy literacy working closely with Energy Consumers Australia.
